Palisade and Hawaiki support first holographic remote learning platform

In conjunction with Hawaiki Submarine Cable (Hawaiki), one of Palisade’s portfolio investments, we are pleased to support the launch of HoloCampus. HoloCampus is the first 3D holographic remote learning platform in the Pacific Islands. The platform will stream real time 3D projections of teachers, deliver interactive classes and engage with students in Pacific Island communities.

Hawaiki provides high speed internet connectivity and reliability to a number of countries including American Samoa. Since the connection of the cable, Hawaiki and American Samoa Telecommunications Authority (ASTCA) have helped to bridge the digital divide in the territory, and HoloCampus represents one of many possible applications which can now be supported to spur new opportunities and drive improvements in education, healthcare, government services, business and academic research collaboration in the region.

The first of its kind, the technology is developed by ARHT Media, and the 3D content is delivered live with minimal latency on the Hawaiki Submarine Cable between the University of Hawaii (UH) and the American Samoa Community College (ASCC). ASCC and UH are currently working together to create specific course programmes which could lead to students in American Samoa earning credits and grades toward UH degrees.
